My wife gave birth in LMU Innenstadt on November 2024. Our experience was absolutely great 10/10! Everyone was super friendly and supportive including the staff and the doctors, the midwives during all shifts were very kind, accommodating, super patient and spoke English perfectly. The birth process took around 36 hours and was completely natural due to their support and patience, they gave my wife all the time she needed to deliver naturally. We are really thankful for the great care that were given and highly recommend this hospital for giving birth! Thank you to all the midwives and doctors that made this experience stress free and as smooth as possible 🙏

I want to share my experience of being in the LMU Klinik und Poliklinik für Frauenheilkunde und Geburtshilfe, which unfortunately turned out to be negative and difficult for me. My goal in writing this review is to help other women who may be unsure about choosing a maternity clinic and to share my story. It is important to note that my experience may be unique, and the decision to choose a maternity ward should be based on individual circumstances and consultation with medical professionals.
My childbirth experience was incredibly challenging, and I faced serious physical and emotional difficulties. The story of my daughter's birth was incredibly complicated, and I hardly expected to survive. I arrived at the maternity ward wearing a pink pajama, carrying various bags with items I deemed necessary, such as candles, woolen socks, and a silk face mask. I hoped for a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere during childbirth. However, I left the hospital barely alive.
Let me recount the events chronologically. From the very beginning, I was informed about the need for labor induction. After receiving the first dose of prostaglandins, my water broke within half an hour. However, the contractions were not regular enough to initiate active labor and cervical dilation. My expectations and requests were ignored, and I was offered a wait-and-see approach and further labor stimulation.
The duration of my labor was four days, during which the attending physician changed every six hours. I experienced intense pain and received strong pain medications, which often caused loss of consciousness. Despite my requests for a cesarean section, I was not offered this option. Labor induction continued, and I endured excruciating agony.
On the third day of labor, when regular contractions began, the new shift of staff refused to acknowledge that my cervix had already dilated. The midwife's attempt to insert balloons at midnight resulted in injury, leading to bleeding and infection, which was diagnosed the following day. My condition worsened, and the labor process came to a halt. The new shift of doctors and midwives failed to learn from previous mistakes and prescribed oxytocin and epidural anesthesia. The epidural anesthesia, which they attempted three times, did not work due to incorrect administration. I felt unbearable pain from the oxytocin without any anesthesia.
My temperature started to rise, and the baby's heart rate deteriorated due to the infection brought in by the midwife's instruments. Finally, the new shift of staff realized the seriousness of the situation, and an emergency cesarean section was scheduled for me. However, due to the previous unsuccessful attempts at epidural anesthesia, I had to undergo the operation under general anesthesia.
In conclusion, I would like to mention that there are positive aspects to the LMU Klinik und Poliklinik für Frauenheilkunde und Geburtshilfe, such as quality renovations, interior design, new equipment, and meals. Some nurses were kind and caring as well. However, overall, I cannot recommend this clinic due to the tactics and approach of the medical staff. I felt like a victim of medical violence, and my desires and needs were not taken into account. The lack of continuous patient care and unwillingness to consider the history of each case create an unacceptable situation.
I genuinely regret having to experience such unpleasantness. I hope that my review will help other women make informed decisions when choosing a maternity ward and that they find a clinic with a more humane and caring approach. No one should endure medical violence and injustice, especially during such an important and vulnerable event as childbirth.

My wife had a c-section here. The 3 days that she had to stay in the hospital to recover were a completely nightmare. Full of incompetent and careless midwifes, my baby lost 250gr in the first day because they didn’t help at all and made my wife’s recovery very challenging. What it should have been a beautiful memory of my firstborn, became one of the worst.

As a non-German couple, we felt really discriminated by the majority of the staff here. Only a couple of doctors and midwifes that were present during the procedure were fine, but the rest were really mean.

My baby was overdue 4 days and because I was worried I went for a check up. I’m registered to give birth in another hospital which is 45 minutes away and did not want to drive there in the evening, so we decided to have a check up here as we live close by. The doctor was extremely unfriendly saying that I should have gone to the hospital where I’m registered and pushed my belly very hard during the ultrasound exam for about 15 minutes. I could barely walk afterwards and still feel abdominal pain from the exam on the next day. Never again. I’m considering to sue the doctor.

I had an emergency c-section at hospital, had great experience with nurses and doctors, everybody was so friendly and eager to help.
Specially the nurses are super caring and really take care of you and baby.
